Balatro Seed: 1BUYPLAN

So this one is a pretty funny seed name given the start of the strategy I've found (good until ante 10/11). [Round 1] Play small blind. Discard 5 cards that are not 10s. Play Full House. Skip shop. [Round 2] Play big blind. Discard all cards that are not diamonds. Play diamond flush. Play straight (the deck will provide the straight for you). At shop, buy Blueprint and nothing else. Go to boss blind. [Round 3] Boss blind is super specific. First, discard all cards that are not clubs until you can play clubs flush - this is the first hand you play. After playing clubs flush, discard all cards that are not hearts until you can play hearts flush - this is the second hand you play. At this point, you will have 0 discards, so you play all cards that are not diamonds. Lastly, play diamond flush. At the shop, buy the buffoon pack and take the Zany Joker. Exit shop. [Round 4] Go to small blind. Discard cards that are not Queens or 8s. Play full house. At the shop, buy the buffoon pack and take Seltzer (necessary for some of the next few blinds). Keep Blueprint next to Zany Joker. Exit shop. [Round 5] Skip big blind and go to boss blind. Discard all cards that are not Queens or 5s until you can play Full House. At the shop, take the simple Joker (it will be polychromed thanks to the previous skip). After you acquire this joker, put Blueprint to its left. Then, take the Tarot Pack and use Temperance. Purchase overstock and reroll once. Exit shop. [Round 6] Go to small blind. Discard all cards that are not spades until you can play spades flush - this is your first hand played. Then you use all your discards until you have a two pair of Queens and 9s - this is your last hand played. Skip the shop. [Round 7] Go to big blind. On your first discard, get rid of all cards that are not hearts. On your second discard, get rid of all cards that are not 8s or 10s. Play Full House using Aces and 8s. At the shop, buy Spectral Pack and use Immolate. Then, buy Buffon Pack and take Blue Joker. After you have 5 jokers, buy and use Temperance. Reroll shop and buy Negative Runner. Reroll again and sell Seltzer to replace it with Misprint. Make sure Blueprint is right of Misprint, left to Simple Joker. Reroll shop and then exit. [Round 8] Go to boss blind. Discard all cards that are not Jacks or 9s until you can play Full House - this is your hand for the needle. At the shop, buy the clearance voucher. Sell Zany Joker and replace it with Banana. Make sure banana is left of Blueprint. Then use a fool to generate and use a temperance. Reroll shop. Buy and use emperor. Buy and use all planet cards. Open Tarot pack. Use Magician on the 9 of hearts and the King of Spades. Use death on the 3 of diamonds and the King of Spades to copy the King of Spades. Then, use temperance from the pack. Reroll the shop and exit. [Round 9] Go to small blind. Discard cards until you can play a straight (Ace to 5) - this is your hand. At the shop, buy Magician. Then, reroll once and exit the shop. [Round 10] Go to big blind. Play straight. buy Saturn. At the shop, open Tarot Pack and omit it. Use fool to generate and use temperance. Then, buy and use Saturn. Then, reroll the shop and buy Negative Abstract Joker. Make sure Abstract Joker is left of Blueprint. Reroll shop once. Exit shop [Round 11] Go to boss blind. You will have no discards, so play all cards that are not clubs for your first hand. Then, use magician on the King and Jack of clubs. Then, play all your highest clubs for flush. This is where we lose banana. At the shop, buy Spectral Pack and use Deja Vu on the Jack of clubs (should be a magician Jack). Buy Egg. Buy Telescope. Exit shop. [Round 12] Go to small blind. Discard as many cards as possible while preserving one of each card required to make a straight of Ace, King, Queen, Jack and 10. Then, play two pair of 5s and 4s. - this should win the round. At the shop, buy both planet packs and select Saturn (might only show up on the left one, but I have not tested it). Buy and use wheel of Fortune (it will not hit anything). Reroll shop and sell Egg to replace it with Blackboard. Keep Blueprint next to Simple Joker. Exit shop. [Round 13] Select big blind. Use all your discard and play hands while preserving enough cards to use for an Ace, King, Queen, Jack and 10 straight (should use all hands and discards). At the shop, buy Spectral pack and use trance on the 3 of spades. Reroll shop once and exit. [Round 14] Go to boss blind. Discard the 5 of diamonds. Move Blueprint next to Blackboard. Play the straight, using the 9 of diamonds (this will ensure Blackboard is activated). At the shop, sell Blue Joker for Four Finger. Reroll shop. Sell misprint to replace it with Cavendish. Buy Hieroglyph voucher. Exit shop. [Round 15] Go to small blind. Use all your discards while preserving 3 Kings, 1 Jack, and two 9s. Use two 9s and two Kings to score two pair - add an additional card to the hand to discard. Move Blueprint next to Cavendish. Play an Ace to 10 straight. At the shop, buy the planet pack and use Saturn. Exit shop. [Round 16] Go to big blind. It may be possible to get another straight here, but I have not found tried every optimizing this step too much. Either way, playing high card with a King will clear this level. At the shop, buy the Tarot Pack and use Moon on the Queen of Hearts, the 9 of diamonds, and the 8 of hearts. Then, buy the Planet Pack and use Neptune. Exit shop. [Round 17] Go to boss blind. Sort cards by rank. With your first discard, discard the leftmost card, the rightmost card, the two middle cards, and the card right of the middle cards. Discard all remaining face down cards and heart cards in your second discard. Discard the Ace of Hearts. Play an 8 to 4 straight (should activate Blackboard as no diamonds or hearts will be left in hand). At the shop, buy the Planet Pack and use Neptune. Buy the World card. Exit shop. [Round 18] Go to small blind. Discard the 2 of diamonds. Use the world on the Ace of diamonds, a Queen of Clubs, and the 10 of diamonds. Play a Queen to 9 Spades Straight Flush - use both 10 of spades as they will both score thanks to Four Finger. At the shop, buy the Tarot Pack on the right and use Lovers on the King of hearts. Then, buy the other Tarot pack and use the world on all 3 cards that are not clubs or spades. Then, buy and use Neptune. Exit shop. [General notes] Moving forward, the goal is to maximize the number of spades and clubs in hand while moving all cards into the range of Ace to 10. Cut hearts and diamonds when possible, Use Tarots to improve the quality of your cards. Buy Saturn, Neptune, and eventually play a Full Flush to start buying Ceres. Your economy is dependent on winning in small number of hands and using magician cards. Eventually, the Tribe will show up. I did not get it and lost on ante 11. I'm not sure if this was a mistake on my strategy at that point or if keeping Four Finger by then was not worth the effort. There is an argument to be made against Full Flush as you split your focus between three hands, and its going to be easier to make straights and straights flushes in the long run as you manage straggling hearts and diamonds, specially with Four Finger. Hieroglyph is necessary as there are not enough Tarot Packs and we did not buy the Tarot Merchant voucher when it showed up. I'll write down future steps to see if I can manage to get to ante 12 or beyond, but this set up is more than enough to win the game and get to endless. Just be wary of the boss blind that shuffles your jokers as you'll have to find where abstract joker is and make sure Blueprint is left of either Blackboard or Cavendish. There might be ways to slightly optimize this set up, but it is long and I am not up for another round of corrections. If you skip the next blind (which I did in my run), you get a negative juggler, which is good for setting up straights but bad for managing straggling hearts and diamonds for Blackboard.
